The Isles of France & Bourbon
was a former French colony located in the Indian Ocean about 500 miles
east of Madagascar.
Composed of two main islands, one of which was Isles de France (now Mauritius) and the second island, Bourbon, now Reunion, a French Overseas Department. During the Napoleonic period Reunion was called Isle de Bonaparte. |
