On 12.12.1963 Kenya became independent. On 9.12.1961 Tanganyika became independent and joined in political union with with Zanzibar on 27.4.1964 and on 29.10.1964 became the United Republic of Tanzania. On 9.10.1963 Uganda became independent as the Republic of Uganda.
