4 Regions Images Needed

BACKGROUNDER

OUR Community Dollar program was established in 2004 and currently has about 60 participating merchants in the southwestern, Ontario, CANADA region.

The program was conceived by Gary Jones who now promotes the program through the Community Dollar Marketing Group. Participating merchants are encourages to accept payment for purchases with at least 10% paid in Our Community Dollars.

The first series of notes, shown above, were issued in November 2004 with the designs based on the Waterloo, ONT region. A set of collectible OUR Community Dollars was made available in November 2004. This set consists of one of each of the six notes created in The Waterloo Region series. There were 500 limited sets made available for sale priced at $29.95 Canadian (plus GST).

The second series based on the Edmonton Region, is currently in development.
